  1. Garlic Butter
    1. Peel and finely mince or grate the garlic cloves into a paste. Add to the softened butter and mash together thoroughly until fully combined and smooth.
4 tbsp Unsalted butter, softened, 3 clove Garlic cloves
  2. 2. Spread the garlic butter generously and evenly over one side of each bread slice, going right to the edges.
    8 slice Sandwich bread slices
  3. Pan Toasting
    3. Place a large non-stick or cast iron pan over low-medium heat. Once warm, lay the bread slices buttered-side down in the pan in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Immediately place the lid on the pan.
  4. 4. Cook covered for 2–3 minutes until the bottom is lightly golden and crisp and the garlic is fragrant. The steam trapped under the lid will warm the bread through and keep the center soft. Remove the lid, flip each slice briefly for 30 seconds if desired for a touch of colour on the plain side, then remove from the pan.
  5. Serving
    5. Serve immediately while warm. For extra richness, rub any remaining garlic butter across the top while still hot from the pan.
