  1. Prepare Pear
    1. Peel the pear, remove the core and seeds, and chop the flesh very finely into small, soft pieces about 5 mm in size so they are safe for a toddler to eat.
    1 piece Ripe soft pear
  2. Cook Oats
    2. Combine the rolled oats, whole milk, water and salt in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring often.
0.5 cup Old-fashioned rolled oats, 1 cup Whole milk, 0.2 cup Water, 1 pinch Pinch of salt
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to low, add the chopped pear and cinnamon, and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats are very soft and creamy and the pear is tender.
1 piece Ripe soft pear, 0.2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  4. Enrich and Serve
    4. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and smooth almond butter until fully melted and evenly blended, with no lumps. Add a splash of milk or water if it is too thick.
1 cup Whole milk, 0.2 cup Water, 2 tbsp Smooth almond butter, 1 tsp Unsalted butter
  5. 5. Let the oatmeal cool for 5 to 10 minutes until warm, not hot, and test the temperature before serving in a small bowl. Serve with a spoon, supervised.
